Picky Eater

Trying different things can appear challenging such as being a new student at a school or taking a class for the first time. You have to be patient when introducing new things. The same goes for food. It may take more than a few tries for a child to accept an unfamiliar item. Check out these Resources for picky eaters and Handling a “choosy” eater. By building a support network you can encourage each other to be active. Check out the 10 Tips: Be Active Adults before getting moving. International Night will on Thursday June 6 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm two classrooms per grade level. It is suggested that each grade level has 2 rooms set up; one for displaying international student work, and one for hands on activities (games, crafts, etc.). We also will have some live presentations taking place on the stage. Meals will be ordered through PTA from Fazoli’s. Please turn in flyers and money to the PTA no later than Tuesday, May 31.  As students travel from continent to continent they will earn stamps to mark their travels.

Career Day

The Career Awareness Day is scheduled for May 5, 2017 from 9:00am to 12:00pm.

On behalf of the students and staff of New Century International Elementary School, you are cordially invited to participate in our Annual Career Awareness Day.  NCIES strives to provide students with meaningful educational experiences that foster learning and motivate them to continue in school.  In view of that, we are inviting professionals from various fields to share their educational background and their professional experiences with our students.

reading rocks

Reading Rocks is just around the corner.  The walk will be on October 15 at Festival Park.  Penny Wars will begin on Monday September 12. Coins will count toward your class point total and bills will count against other classes.  The class in each grade level with the most points wins a special prize.  All money collected through the penny war will go toward purchasing new literacy materials for students.  For more details Click Here

T-Shirts can be ordered until September 26.  Tax deductable donations can be made using the envelopes sent home.

Watch DOGS Program

 

The Watch D.O.G.S. Program Kickoff begins September 29th at 6:00pm here at New Century International Elementary School.

Watch D.O.G.S. (Dads of Great Students) is an innovative program focusing on education and safety in schools by using the positive influence of fathers and father-figures for a two-fold purpose.  To provide positive male role models for the students and to provide extra set of eyes and ears to enhance school security.

 We will be having our NCIES Beginner’s Day on April 15 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.  There will be no school for current Pre-K or Kindergarten students.  Beginning kindergarten students will experience learning activities and be able to share some excitement with their classmates for the day.
